Hi, my name is Daniel Ward from Cedar Crest, New Mexico. I am an accomplished guitarist whose music is considered to be World/Flamenco Jazz. I create music that is... My own music is a hybrid of many styles. I don't set out to throw different influences together, but I have just been combining sounds for so long that it is built into the way I hear now. Most of the time, there is a place in time, or an event, a feeling or a smell that sparks the way a song will sound. Some of the artists that have influenced me and my music are... Vicente Amigo, Jeff Beck, Stevie Wonder, Pat Metheny, Weather Report, Peter Gabriel, and John Scofield just to scratch the surface. My thoughts on the power of music are... Even though an experience is central only to an artist to begin with, when they write about that experience in music, the feeling can become universal to anyone. A listener may have no idea what it was that got the music started, but the energy is transferred anyway. My mission as a musician is... This is my life and my work. Some people would call it my religion- My whole lively hood comes from music, so I end up playing, engineering, scoring for film, and recording as a session player. I meet lots of people, and travel as well. I also enjoy playing for many benefit events and important causes like curing MS and Diabetes.
