A Southerner by birth, Yankee by socialization, Arielle Silver was raised on the east coast with a suitcase packed to move. Across 35 states in 5 months, Arielle was on the road with her band, in support of her 2006 CD "somethingprettysomethingtrue" out on indie label Passion Records. Now, the Florida native has set up shop on the left edge of the country, in sunny LA.
Recorded in an old Victorian house on the south-western side of Boston, "somethingprettysomethingtrue" is produced by Arielle and Passion Records' Head Chris Florio. Featuring Arielle's band alongside her award-winning clarinet playing, the album features guest players from the Boston scene, including cellist Lindsay Mac (Michelle Shocked, Charlie Hayden), fiddle player Andy Eggleston (Michael Brecker), and dobro/ pedal steel player Adam Ollendorff (Jesse Terry, Liz Carlisle).
Arielle's 2005 EP "On the Dashboard of a Shaky Car" garnered kudos from The Boston Globe, ASCAP, American Songwriter Magazine, Northeast Performer Magazine, and more. |
