About This:
With the release of "The Age of Possibility," Carrie Newcomer demonstrates that she is one of the definitive voices of the heartland. Her first studio recording in two-and-a-half years, "The Age of Possibility" was engineered and co-produced by Mark Williams (Southern Culture on the Skids, James McMurtrey, Kirk Franklin). Don Dixon (R.E.M., The Smithereens, Mary Chapin Carpenter) played bass and acted as bandleader and all-around spark plug for the rhythm sessions, which took place in Charlotte, NC, at Reflection Studios. A diverse group of veteran musicians added their talents to this collection of music, including guitarist Keith Skooglund, drummer Jim Brock (Kathy Mattea's band), mandolin player Jason Wilber (John Prine's band). The CD ranges from intimate voice, guitar and piano to acoustic-driven full band over the course of 13 songs.
