Artist:
Den's "Blacksburg"--coming soon to an iPod near you!

Den released his "Blacksburg" single to manufacturing on April 16, 2008, the one-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech tragedy. The song will be available for download at digital retail.

Den Hollinden creates a rootsy endangered species of music that gives Americana its definition, fans of traditional country what they have long missed, country's detractors a reason to take a second listen, and passes the Texas singer/songwriter music test of if you didn't write it, don't sing it. He is a storyteller who uses his palette of rootsy country sounds--like steel, Dobro and vintage guitars--to communicate emotion and paint scenes of Americana. Wearing the hats of singer, songwriter and producer, Den is intimately involved in every step of the production of his music.

As a writer, Den is affiliated with ASCAP, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Nashville's Tennessee Songwriters Association International, and the Washington, DC area's Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW.) As an artist, Den is a member of the Recording Academy (NARAS/Grammy,) Academy of Country Music (ACM,) and the Americana (AMA) and Roots (RMA) Music, and Pedal Steel Guitar (PSGA) Associations.

Den's previous release was the 4-song "little time" (EP single.) The record included "Biggest Hearts in Texas," a song Den originally created as a fundraiser for Texas Children's Hospital cancer patient Merrik Medrano and "The Basketball Song" which sets the Hoosier sport of choice to music. Additionally, the EP included cuts from Den's upcoming SOMEBODY OVER THERE album, a tribute to troops and veterans. Songs from the album are already Internet legends--like "Friendly Fire," the Dixie Chicks roast.
