Ellis Paul and Vance Gilbert have been best of friends since they were both emerging on the Boston folk scene in the late 1980s. Since then, both have become recognized as two of the finest singer/songwriters in the country. While they couldn't be more different in their musical influences, they share a love of great songwriting and the belief in the power of music to affect people's lives. For their first recording together, they have selected songs by some of their favorite artists as well as new songs of their own. Side of the Road brings together two of contemporary folk music's most unique voices.
