About This:

This project is a musical time capsule of a most exciting moment in the Boston area's music scene. The artists chosen are among the top of the heap of our singer songwriter community- but only the tip of the proverbial iceberg of talent found in the Boston area.

This collection of artists range from international recording stars on major labels, to those just starting to make waves in the subways, the street corners or the thriving open-mic scene. These performers are the next wave of a rich history of our local music reaching out ot a national audience. As the Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and Tracy Chapman's of the world move on and are no longer a regular part of the area's local musical fabric, there is plenty of talent taking their places already on the launching pad.

Boston is a mecca for singer songwriters thanks to hundreds of church basement coffeehouses and clubs, committed radio programmers, and loyal fans not afraid to support live music...and independent recordings.

Some have said Austin, Texas is the best proving ground for those with guitar and lyrics...this compilation is our way of throwing our songwriters into the national musical ring as representatives of the strongest scene in these United States. Sorry New York, excuse me Nashville, see you L.A...this is Boston...Not Austin!!
