WALTER THE WALTZING WORM - Songs to Enhance the Movement Vocabulary of Young Children
Songs to Enhance the Movement Vocabulary of Young Children is the title of Hap's Master's Thesis in Dance Education from UCLA.
Through movement and music children learn and experience the meaning of vocabulary such as fast and slow, high and low, front, back, side, light and heavy. The vocabulary also includes naming parts of the body - head, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, hands, as well as ways the body can move - bend, stretch, twist, walk, run, jump and gallop.
The songs employ a rich variety of musical styles accompanied by a full orchestra
