About This:
Janet Lenore, a singer-songwriter with deep roots in the Northern California countryside, is delighted to release her first CD within the first week of the new century. This country-folk song collection is spiced with assertive, bluesy songs thrown into the mix. Through the miracle of multi-track recording, JL augments her acoustic guitar and clear alto voice with her own banjo and mandolin
accompaniment. She also plays lead fills on "Ant Song," (one of the three songs sampled here) by using a theremin, an electronic instrument she herself assembled. The title track features Janet's guitar and banjo wrapped around a rollicking mandolin solo by renowned guest musician Robin Flower. Chris Grampp and Libby McLaren are also among the guest musicians appearing on this CD.
This CD is extra long because it includes the five bonus tracks taken from a live radio performance by "Rosenthorn," Janet's folk music partnership
with her mother. The songwriter has fondly dedicated this CD to the music and the memories of her mother and grandmother, both of whom fought cancer in the 1990s.
And hey hey hey, Happy Y2K! Thanks for stopping
