Artist:
Every time Julia takes the stage, she nails it. She sings with her soul, she lights up the room, she tells a story and she keeps her audience entranced. Her rich alto will melt you like butter and her lush music will keep you humming and swaying for days.

Julia’s music career really began when a Martin Guitar landed in her possession during her college years. She had struggled with music lessons before, but at that time she was still more of a raw talent singer and performer. Having that beautiful guitar in her possession inspired to Julia to give “music” one more shot. Shortly after, Julia ended up living with Girlyman member Tylan Greenstein who had the patience and understanding to get Julia, finally, playing guitar. Julia has followed her calling as a musician ever since.

What most people notice first about Julia is the beauty and power of her voice. Julia has very solid vocal control and a very commanding stage presence, which she exploits in every way possible to do a song justice. For Julia the most important thing in a performance is that there is a connection; between her, the song, the story, the audience and the music. Because Julia’s primary intention is to create these connections, she quickly draws people in and wins many fans in the process.

Stylistically Julia’s writing covers a spectrum of Jazz, Folk and Blues. Her influences include early Van Morisson, Mississippi John Hurt, RL Burnside, Phoebe Snow, John Fahey, Joan Armatrading and Phoebe Snow. While races of her heroes can be heard in Julia’s music, she brings a musicality and approach that is entirely her own.

Julia has just completed her debut album, Hush, which will be available on-line almost any day now. The album was self produced with a little help from some fabulous and soulful musicians: Bassists Jeff Eyrich and Zev Katz, drummer George Mel, guitarists Steve Cardenas, Michael Ross, Jimmy Mulhollan and Mike Crehore, and pianist Jon Rosen. She recorded at Dubway Studios in Manhattan, mixed with Brian Dozoretz at Bennett Studios and Mastered with Scott Hull.

Check out the album and see a live show to seal the deal.
