This song was written in conjunction with a travelling memorial called The Field of Flags. The Field of Flags is a display of small American flags, one for each soldier killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The song was written by Luanne Crosby when the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Society of Westborough, in Westborough, Massachusetts, where she lives, hosted the display. She performed this original song at a community memorial service on June 10, 2007.
