About This:
Every month at the time of the Full Moon, humanity has a great spiritual, meditative opportunity to contact and distribute the subtle energies of the twelve signs of the zodiac and their ruling planets. These monthly alignments are known as "Spiritual Festivals" and, increasingly, as "Solar Fire Festivals". Solar Fire is the subtle, subjective energy of Love-Wisdom which emanates from the "Heart of God".
Three of these Solar Fire Festivals are of greater significance than the other nine. These three are the Easter Festival (which celebrates the resurrection of the Christ Spirit in the Hearts and minds of humanity); the Wesak Festival (a great Eastern festival taking place at the time of the Taurus Full Moon and which celebrates the inspiring, yearly return of the Buddha before the assembled Spiritual Hierarchy of our planet). and the Festival of the Christ occurring at the Gemini Full Moon. The name of any particular Solar Fire Festival derives from the zodiacal sign in which the Sun is place, and not from the zodiacal position of the Moon.
The Festival of the Christ is alternatively known as the Festival of Humanity, the Festival of Goodwill, and also by its Eastern name, the Asala Festival. At the time of Christ's Festival, the subjective energies of divine Love reach their zenith for the year. The Christ is said to gather into His nature all of human aspiration for a higher and more beautiful way of life, and, then, to present this aspiration to Shamballa, the highest spiritual center on our planet. The Christ's work on behalf of aspiring humanity precipitates a great downpouring of light and love and elevates the entire human race. Thus, the Christ's Festival (the Festival of Goodwill) is festival in which humanity invokes the energies of divine Love inherent in the human spirit, and then attempts to distribute that love in practical service as the energy of Goodwill, for "Goodwill is Love-in-Action".
Just as the Christ and His great Brother, the Buddha, cooperate on behalf of humanity at the Wesak Festival, They also do so at the time of the Christ's Festival. Every year, at that time, the Christ is said to preach before the assembled Spiritual Hierarchy the "Last Sermon of the Buddha"; by so doing, the Christ signals the constructive and illuminating continuity which exists between the Buddha's teaching and His own.
To facilitate the service work of the Christ and His Hierarchy, the day of the Gemini Full Moon has been named "World Invocation Day". On that day the great prayer or mantram known as the "The Great Invocation" is sounded continuously by thousands of people in over a hundred languages and in many nations throughout the world. The purpose of this sounding, and the meditation which accompanies it, is to invoke and receive into the human heart and mind the transformative energies of spiritual light, love and power.
It is our hope that this music composed for the Christ's Festival will deepen and beautify humanity's approach tot the subjective energies of divine love and goodwill, helping in some small way to carry the redeeming influence of the World Teacher -the Christ- and His Spiritual Hierarchy ever more fully into the human heart and soul.
