About This:
“Then There Were Two” is the brainchild of NY bassist Mike Visceglia. He is the bass player and musical director for singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega and has been an in-demand session musician on the NY scene for many years. Vocalist Fiona McBain hails form Australia and is currently co-leader of the band “Ollabelle.” The idea for a bass/vocal duo is a unique musical form that has rarely been executed. In exploring this idea, the choice was made to interpret a wide variety of songs, from Burt Bacharach and Hoagy Carmichael to Nick Cave and Tom Petty, in order to honor great songwriting. The production values are reduced to essential elements- melody, harmony and lyrics. There are no overdubs or effects. Ms McBain’s voice hauntingly floats over the dexterous and always supportive playing of Mr. Visceglia. This CD is for anyone who is a fan of great singing, great playing and above all, great songs.
