Mick Goodrick and John Abercrombie have most certainly affected any guitarist who has been active during the past thirty years. Between the two of them, through their recordings and writings, they have helped to shape the very landscape of modern guitar. Steve Swallow is one of the most under-appreciated bassists playing today. This is mostly due to the fact that his marvelous composing has given us some of our most memorable music, and subsequently his playing is often over-shadowed. Gary Chaffee is a truly unique drummer. Not only does he use his entire kit (which includes a host of cymbals) to create a myriad of colors, but he has incredible time. He has influenced more drummers in more styles than most of us know.
