Pusher burst onto the music scene almost a year ago with a ton of great songs, and an eclectic, energetic live performance. Thousands of their demos have circulated throughout the Las Vegas valley and the United States, and with the release of their first full length album, A Walk in the Park, Pusher is prepared to entertain label interest and tour in support of their album. Pusher is poised to fill the voids that exist musically with their unique sound that encompass many genres. Lyrically, Pusher touches on many important subjects that everyone can relate to. Pusher's songs tend to get "stuck in your head".
Pusher consists of four talented performers from many different styles and backgrounds, all coming together to create uncompromisingly great rock music. A latin/jazz drummer with a love for rock, a classical guitarist with a love for metal, a bass player with a love of both metal and funk, as well as a jazz saxophonist frontman, playing keyboards and guitar. Together they have played venues such as The House of Blues, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Palms, The Green Valley Ranch, not mentioning a ton of other venues in and out of Las Vegas.
"Musically, there is nothing better for me than going from a really beautiful breakdown, into a really loud part. It gets my blood flowing! I have a great love and respect for the piano and look forward to what the future holds for my writing with it. I can get lost within the notes of a nicely placed piano line. As a band, we have a unique sound and style that is like nothing else out there. Listen to our music, our songwriting. See us live, you'll love us. We'll never go away! We, as a collective unit, are dedicated to making music as long as we breathe." says Matthew, the frontman for Pusher.
Making sure that he exposes himself, his feelings, and thoughts in everything he writes, Matthew really makes a strong stance as a lyricist and songwriter on the debut album for Pusher.
"I set out to put myself naked there in front of people. I want them to feel what I feel and see what I see. Look at the world not just through my eyes, but look at it through a strangers eyes as well. Look at the world, look at all it's inhabitants, look at yourself. I try to make my world a better place everyday and I hope to encourage and enlighten others to do the same." With songs like "Tommy", "written" by a man to his brother who died in Iraq, and "IgnoreANCE", about the decline of people who actually care about anything in our society, Pusher does just that.
Pusher also sets themselves apart with blistering and moving live performances. They keep fresh by changing up their set lists and adding different covers at just the right times. From slow, tasteful, intricate compositions, to loud, crunchy, walls of sound, Pusher does it all. They have songs that anyone into any kind of music would enjoy, and frequently have the audience singing along or calling for encores. They definately connect with their audience, and that's the point.
The band members all work extremely hard to cater to their fans in an ever increasing number of ways. Emails, myspace, messengers, texts, flyers, posters, demos, "whatever it takes", says Raj, bassist for Pusher. The members of the band are all very likeable, even-tempered, "kick back", no-ego guys who care about what their fans have to say. "We all answer emails and work the myspace a bit. Myspace is a great place to get yourself out there and communicate with people who listen to your music. We love any and all feeback, good or bad, from everyone." Pusher has been getting several hundred plays a day and is always in the top 10 charts for Alternative Rock bands in Nevada.
With the release of their album, their new website, cd sales, their ever growing fanbase, and their constant performing and promoting, Pusher is poised to follow in the footsteps of previous Las Vegas greats, such as The Crystal Method, Slaughter, and The Killers, and make their way out of the desert and into the concert halls, stadiums, and cd players of americans and the world.
