Rob Siegel mines the veins of his middle class middle aged left-of-center experience, from Long Island to Amherst to Newton, and generates intelligent, well-crafted, memorable songs about family, stress, religion, rebellion, relationships, regrets, and the glorious flower of simply being here. The songs range from John Prine sparse to laugh-out-loud funny to cancer serious. His first CD Shaker Chair was released in 2000 and received airplay on Bostons WUMB Folk Radio. Rob has opened for Bill Staines, Vance Gilbert, Geoff Muldaur, Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsun, and Geoff Bartley, and plays regularly at Club Passim in Cambridge. His new CD Voices from the Right Brain: Rob Siegel Live at Club Passim, was recorded at the legendary Cambridge folk music venue.
