When the word spread a couple of months ago, there was more than a bit of surprise in the region's music community. The fact that Rustic Overtones were recording together and going back into the clubs was almost a shock. The band, as a band, was last seen together several years ago, and this extremely successful ensemble had since watched former Overtones members go in very different directions.

In May, however, several members announced on Portland radio station WCYY that they were scheduling local shows, and later confirmed the release of Light at the End, featuring several new recordings, as well as some prized previously unreleased material.
