About This:
The most refreshing thing about Saltlick and their music is that they are both almost impossible to describe. Is Saltlick Country? No, at least not by today's standards in Country Music. Are they Alternative Country? Sort of, but not really. Are they Roots Rock? Maybe. Are they Folk? Well, there hasn't really been any true Folk music in so long, that America's newest generations don't even know what Folk music actually is. So, what are they? They are DAMN GOOD, that's what they are! Saltlick is a unique Alternative Country, Roots Rock band from Eugene, Oregon, led by Singer/Songwriter Steve Taddei. Steve's voice sounds a little bit like Bob Dylan, his songwriting and musical style are reminiscent of the late, great Gram Parsons, and his attitude toward Country Music is a tribute to the anti-establishment attitudes of Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, David Allen Coe and Steve Earle. A Face Only A Mother Could Love is the band's debut album release, and it is a breath of fresh creative air in a world of music that has become way too scripted and stagnant beyond belief. Cows LOVE Saltlick!! And, if you understand, or want to learn, what Country Roots Rock is all about, you will eventually wear out this album, like a block of Saltlick! You must hear it!
