shindignation(tm) is the music of Scott & Rit Karath. Scott writes the tunes, Rit records the tunes and both collaborate on the arrangements and production. Each CD showcases a different set of players from Cape Cod Massachusetts.
let's not go ice fishing, his 3rd collection of songs, Scott found vocalist Steve Vaughn(1,2,3,4,6,7), and newcomer Denise Macleod(5). Alison Y. Reid(2,4,7) adds her great gospel touch on background vocals, while Rit's (all) vocals rounds out the tunes. Bob Thayer(1,2,3,5,6,7) plays bass as Dana Deignan provides the drumming. Jim Craven does the keyboards this time, while Ty Newcomb’s horns add just the right touch. Scott plays all the guitars, bass on miracle mile, percussion and keyboards, and Rit plays percussion, sings backgrounds and provides the vocal arrangements.
Losing My Shindignity, his 2nd CD of songs, Scott utilizes the talents of Stephanie Corby and Alison Y. Reid and they more than deliver. Rob Gonzalvez’s piano, organ and strings compliment Malcolm Granger’s keyboards creating a specific ambiance for each song. Rick O’Neal provides the bass this time, as Phil Banner returns with his meticulous drumming. Scott provides the guitars, drum programming, percussion and additional keyboards, and Rit adds keyboards and background vocals.
The Dissing of Summer Lawns, his first CD, Scott, brought some great musicians together. Lead vocalist, Stephanie Corby, a great songwriter herself, gives it her all on every tune while J. Cournoyer and Erica Lewis, provided excellent backups. Phil Banner’s drumming, tight as always, is punctuated by Bob Thayer’s bass. Malcolm Granger's seamless keyboards, Mike Connors’ trumpet and Tom Young’s Sax and Flute performances add the perfect touch. Rit plays bass on Stolen Roses, and background vocals on Stay. Scott provides the CD’s guitars and viola, and the fretless bass on Better Angels. |
