Cleverly Worded Pop Confections – The Washington Post
The Dreamsicles eponymous debut CD is funky as all get out and way more pop than folk. Released in 2003, Tom Prasada-Rao and Cary Coopers’ first collaboration features the hilarious ode on explaining the facts of life “Making Love”, the deeply spiritual “Worthy” and a really fresh cover of Woody Guthrie’s’ “Do Re Mi.”
Definitely the funky side of folk as Sing Out! magazine puts it – these are folk songs at their grooviest, produced by Tom Prasada-Rao, and featuring guest appearances by Aven on sax and vocals, Stephanie Winters on cello, and Caroline Odom spoken word on “Do Re Mi.”
