The Effects are an overwhelmingly hirsute eight-legged groove machine of the highest order. Don’t believe us? Listen to their stuff on their MySpace page; we defy you not to get your box rocked and your soul saved in the process." - MTV's Buzzworthy - November 2, 2007
“Those guys are saving rock ’n’ roll in this town. It’s the best rock band I’ve seen in years.” - Jeff Martinson, Owner of The Blank Slate in Tulsa, OK - Tulsaworld.com - 10/5/07
"straight up, no frills rock and roll" - The Bulletin - Emporia State University - 10/31/07
The Effects are a pure rock and roll band that has toured independently for over two years across the United States and Canada. In 2006 The Effects played over 200 shows and shared the stage with Phantom Planet, Kings of Leon, The Kentucky Headhunters, Cowboy Mouth, Hanson, Velvet Revolver, The Burden Brothers, Ingram Hill, The Stills, Blue October and Limbeck. The Effects performed in 2007 at SXSW(Autin,Tx), Summerfest(Milwaukee), DFEST(Tulsa), Mayfest(Tulsa), and in 2006 at NEMO(Boston), Dfest(Tulsa), Mobfest(Chicago), Mayfest(Tulsa), and IPO(NYC). The band also signed a production deal in '06 with Jeff Saltzman (producer of The Killers, Black Keys, Smashmouth, Rancid, The Deftones, and managed Green Day), and released a 5 song ep (Mixed by Mark Needham). The band continues to tour and will release their long awaited full-length towards the end of this year!
The Effects may or may not be the best Rock ’N’ Roll band on earth. If you haven’t seen them, how do you know? Witnessing their pure rock live show is like eating an ear-steak. It’s like throwing a brick through a plate-glass window, like riding a giant cobra through the desert. It’s like having your cake and eating it too. It’s like getting your homework done on Friday night so your Saturday is free to party, like getting your whistle wet. It’s like giving birth, like if Santa Clause was real and young and in a band from Oklahoma. It’s like seeing someone naked. It’s like dogs and cats living together in harmony, like getting struck by lightning, like getting away with something you’re not too ashamed of. It’s like catching a 10 pound Bass, and its almost like if Beethoven could hear. Words can’t say enough about the four warriors, who sold their souls to the road in exchange for a Rock’n’Roll revolution… and the cream will rise. |
