Winner of the 1998 USA Songwriting Competition, Steffani is a New York City based singer/songwriter who, with partner Jim McGregor, is building a successful career in music, both as a session singer and writer and as a producer/writer of music for TV and film. On her debut CD release, Steffani says, "I am proud of this record, it's the one I wanted to make - without compromise."

With influences like Joni Mitchell and Ricky Lee Jones, Steffani knew she could never release a record that did not reflect her true self, that is, to allow the music to go where it needed to go, without letting "industry standards" influence too heavily.

Working with incredible New York City musicians Byron Isaacs and Dan Vonnegut (bass, drums), Steffani was able to get the sound she wanted on these songs, and have a great time doing it. She is currently doing extensive back-up work with many artists including Wayne Brady and Lesley Gore (unrelated to her style of music, but so much fun!!), and is working on a new body of work to be completed this year.
